ADMINISTRATIVE

Durante el Mes Nacional de la Herencia Hispana reconocemos las contribuciones hechas y la importante presencia de hispanos y latinoamericanos en los Estados Unidos y celebramos su herencia y cultura. El Mes de la Herencia Hispana, cuyas raíces se remontan a 1968, comienza cada año el 15 de septiembre, aniversario de la independencia de cinco países latinoamericanos: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras y Nicaragua. Unamonos a este homenaje anual al conocer y celebrar a las generaciones de hispanoamericanos que han enriquecido positivamente a nuestra nación y sociedad.
 
During National Hispanic Heritage Month we recognize the contributions made and the important presence of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States and celebrate their heritage and culture. Hispanic Heritage Month, whose roots go back to 1968, begins each year on September 15, the anniversary of independence of five Latin American Countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.  Share in this annual tribute by learning about and celebrating the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively enriched our nation and society.

The library will be hosting Silent Reading/Study mornings
from 7:30 AM-8:00 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week before school.  Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are regular before school hours.  This new schedule will start next week

The final make up day for Senior Portraits
is Wednesday, Sept 25.  Any senior that has not had their portraits taken should have received an appointment post card.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Lilly in the Main Office.

Homecoming tickets are now available on My School Bucks for $8 until October 4.  Tickets can be picked up October 7-10 during SCOPE.  Tickets can be purchased in person October 7-10 for $10.

CLASSES AND CLUBS
SCA will be giving away blue and gold  bandannas
to the first 100 students that check in at their table at tomorrow’s football game.

Seniors please check your email and fill out the google form for important decisions relating to your class, it includes senior class color and quote.

There will be a senior class pancake breakfast fundraiser at Applebees. Tickets will be $10.00 per person and will be held at Applebees from 8-10 AM on October 20th. See Mrs. Woodson, Mrs. Painter, or your senior class officers for more information and to buy a ticket. 

The James Wood Drama Club
will hold its next meeting on Monday, Sept. 23 from 2:45-4:30 pm in the chorus room.  Please check Google Classroom for the snack sign-up sheet and other pertinent information

Homecoming is right around the corner, and with that comes PowderPuff! Sign-up NOW  all Juniors and Seniors with a fee of $20. Visit the marketing office and see Mrs. Hunter or Mrs. Wolfe to sign-up. Coaches and Cheerleader sign-ups are also in the DECA office. Players must have money in-hand. The game is on October 7th.

There will be a Chipotle fundraiser on Sunday, September 22 from 4:00-8:00 pm.   Make sure to tell them you are there to support James Wood Volleyball.

There will be a fundraiser at Sweet Frog on Saturday, September 21 from noon to 10:00 pm to support the Choral Boosters

ATHLETICS
Congratulations to our Varsity Volleyball team
on their win against Handley last night!!  JV Volleyball also won in straight sets against Handley and are now 10 and 2

JV Football dominated Warren County last night 48-0!

Congratulations to our Golf team on their win against Liberty yesterday!!
