Senior Class Make-up Meeting.   Mr. Gross would like to meet with those seniors that attend Mount Vista Governor's School today at 11:30.

Looking for a summer job or career after graduation? There will be an employer Expo held on May 23rd 3-7 at the Jim Barnett Park War Memorial Building.  Dress in business casual attire and bring copies of your resume.

The boys’ and girls’ track & field teams competed this past Saturday in the Northwestern Track & Field Championship. The pole vault will still be contested today, so the results aren’t final. The girls team is currently in 1st place, 6 points ahead of Fauquier. They have numerous athletes continuing on to this week’s Region 4C Championship. Rene Rosso was 1st in the 100 meter hurdles, 1st in the 300 meter hurdles, running a time of 46.27 seconds, which improved her time for #1 on the James Wood all-time list. She also was 2nd in the high jump, 2nd in the long jump, 2nd in the triple jump, and 2nd in the 200 meter dash. Kenzie Konyar was 2nd in the 1600 meter run, and her time of 5 minutes, 21.90 seconds puts her #7 on James Wood’s all-time list. Kiara Gilkerson was 2nd in the 400. Brooke Sandy was 3rd in the high jump, 5th in the 300 meter hurdles, and 6th in the 100 meter hurdles. Riley Rose was 4th in the 400 meter dash. Jenny Kerns was 5th in the long jump and tied for 6th in the high jump. Audrey Sandy was also tied for 6th in the high jump and 8th in the 1600 meter run. Mia Johnson was 7th in the 400 meter dash. The girls 3200 meter relay team of Audrey Sandy, Riley Rose, Haley Witt, and Kenzie Konyar were 2nd, improving their regional-qualifying mark. The girls 1600 meter relay team of Kiara Gilkerson, Alina Hackney, Mia Johnson, and Riley Rose were 2nd, and the 400 meter relay team of Jenny Kerns, Rhiannon Bradford, Lauren Taylor, and Eliana Creech were 3rd. The boys are currently in 3rd place and had numerous athletes qualify to compete in the Regional Championship. Chance Grove was 1st in the discus throw and 6th in the shot put. Dominic Revetta was 2nd in the shot put, and his throw of 50 feet 3 inches puts him #6 on James Wood’s all-time list. He was also 4th in the discus throw. Will Crowder was 2nd in the 100 meter dash,improving his time as #4 on James Wood’s all-time list, and was 4th in the 200 meter dash. Drake Tews tied for 2nd in the high jump. Ethan Pierce was 3rd in the 3200 meter run. Logan Owens was 4th in the 110 meter hurdles, 5th in the 300 meter hurdles, and 5th in the triple jump. Jeremiah Addison was 5th in the 400 meter dash. Tyler Ostinato was 6th in the 400 meter dash. Nathan Shade was 6th in the 1600 meter run, and 7th in the 800 meter run. Bryce Ratlief was 7th in the 3200 meter run, and Kevin Konyar was 8th in the 1600 meter run. The 400 meter relay team of Drake Tews, Jackson Clyburn, Jeremiah Addison, and Will Crowder were 2nd. The 1600 meter relay team of Tyler Ostinato, Jackson Clyburn, Logan Owens, and Jeremiah Addison were 3rd, and the 3200 meter relay team of Tyler Ostinato, Ethan Pierce, Justin Mosher, and Jacksen Costa was 4th.

Elections for 2018-2019 SCA officers are now open for all freshman, sophomores, and juniors.  You have been emailed a Google Form to cast your vote during study hall today or tomorrow.  The ballot closes Tuesday at 2:30.
