FCCLA is proud to sponsor Epilepsy Awareness Week at James Wood High School! Listen to this information about seizure disorders. During your lunch period, come to the FCCLA table to receive a question about the information and earn a prize with the correct answer. You can also purchase an Epilepsy Awareness Shirt today, Monday, or Tuesday in Room 104 or 107 for $10. On Monday, DRESS LIKE A TEACHER DAY to promote epilepsy awareness!  Today’s statistics:   A seizure that lasts longer than three minutes is considered a medical emergency and requires initiation of the 911 system. Seizures can take many forms from jerking and twitching, to blank staring, to collapsing, to a convulsive muscular jerking motion.

Attention current sophomores and juniors!  Are you interested in making money while gaining career experience?  Would you like to have an early release next school year so that you can go to a job?  Consider Cooperative Office Education.  Students in Cooperative Office Education leave school at 1:00 every day and are matched with an employer who will teach them business related skills on the job.  Students earn a high school credit for working hours on their job.  Every effort is made to place the student in a job that matches his or her career goals.  The high school co-op credit enhances your resume and transcript because it demonstrates that you deliberately sought out career-specific experience.  Applications are available from your business teacher or in Guidance and are due by February 23rd.  See Mrs. Boswell in Room 108 for more information

There will be a meeting for any girls interested in trying out for the softball teams on Wednesday, February 7 at 3:00 PM in the library.  If you cannot attend, please see Mr. Woshner after Wednesday for any information distributed during the meeting. You can also email Coach Baker at .

The JV Girls Basketball team improved to 9-8 with a 36-28 win over Spring Mills last night.  Hailey Brewer led the team with 17 points.  Maddie Milburn added 6 and Jenna Burkehamer notched 5.

Good luck to the indoor track teams as they compete in the Northwestern District Championships this afternoon in Hagerstown, Maryland. Good luck to our basketball teams as they travel to Millbrook tonight with game times at 6:00 and 7:30.  The varsity wrestling team will compete in the Northwestern District Tournament tomorrow at Liberty High School.
